So, what’s in a name?  

Like the sound of a cruise ships horn ‘only sweeter!’

So, what can I tell you about myself?  Well for starters, my name is 'Karina.'  I'm a travel writer, a singer, dancer, actor from Melbourne Australia, and my dream job has always been to become an Assistant Cruise Director at Princess Cruises.  I love cruising, traveling the world, and I'm obsessed with being on the ocean!  I'm also an experienced cruiser so I know what I'm talking about.  I get 'cruuuuuise happy' when ever I see a cruise ship, and if I could live on board a cruise ship.... I would!’ 

I first discovered my passion for cruising back in the 1980's.  I was just a child when I saw the commercial advertising 'P&O's Fairstar the Funship' on TV.'  A few years later, I saw the ship docked in Sydney's Darling Harbour, and this was when I started dreaming about going on 'a two week South Pacific cruise' which became a reality in 2014 when I boarded the (late) Dawn Princess Cruise ship at Sydney's White Bay Wharf for my maiden voyage - a 14 night cruise to Fiji.  Not only was it my first time on board a Cruise ship; it was also my first time out of Australia.  I loved every moment of it, and I’ve been writing about cruising ever since. 

The Discovery Princess cruise ship is coming to Australia this December for the 2025/2026 Summer Cruise Season, and I’m excited to announce that I will be on board the newest, and final 'Royal Class Ship' in the Princess Fleet for a 12 night South Australian cruise departing from Sydney in February 2026.  I look forward to writing, and posting my travel blog.
