When it comes time to pack for my cruising adventure 'I am a major over packer.' I always take way too much than need, and I've even experienced some problems because of it. I live in Melbourne now, and I now have to fly to Sydney to meet the cruise ship because of an cruise industry rental increase in China. Plus, there's an issue. Because of the flight I'm now limited in what can pack for the cruise itself.' That's why I enlisted some help from these two videos: 'Packing like a PRO with this EASY method (Pack for 2 weeks with a carry on only),' and How To Pack For A Cruise In A Carry On Only for all of my contracts at sea, and I'm sharing them here to help you pack for your next cruising adventure.
Shoes
Yes, it's challenging; but limit your shoes to 'three pairs.'
· One pair of Formal sandals for the Formal Nights,
· One pair of deck shoes (ie flip plops) for the sea days, and
· One pair of dressy sandals for casual events on board.
Sneakers or sandshoes aren't included because they're usually worn on the plane, and when you Embark the ship for your cruise.
Dresses:
This
has always been an issue for me ever since my first cruise, and it’s a fact
‘you’ll wear half the clothes you pack’ so try to limit your dresses to
THREE. This includes:
· One
Formal dress for all the Formal Nights,
· One
Dressy dress for all the night events on board the ship, and
· One Casual dress for all the sea days around the pool.
Clothing:
In summary, when it comes to packing your clothes for your cruise the main thing to remember is 'you are living on board a cruise ship.' So your packing list should include:
· One skirt / pants / jeans,
· One or two casual outfits (one per week) for the ship,
· Three convertible tops (for more than one outfit),
· Two Swimmers (one is drying while you're wearing the other),
· Three pairs of shoes,
· Two pairs of Pyjamas (or PJ's),
· Thermal Underwear for voyages to cooler destinations (like New Zealand),
· Three dresses,
· Theme party costumes (check your cruise platter for the details),
· Two Jumpers (include a ski jacket for the cooler destinations), and
· One pair of shorts.
Other things to remember:
· Roll your clothes DON'T fold them. This technique will free up room in your suitcase so you can pack more if you want to.
· Pack multi-purpose clothes that can be combined to make ‘more than one outfit,’ and
· Make sure to buy ‘Packing Cubes’ from TEMU so you can store your clothes neatly, and a ‘hanging toiletry bag.’ It hangs over the door of your bathroom in you Cabin, or Stateroom, and it’s perfect for your skincare, make up, and shower items.
Happy Cruising!
