Keep the peace, and let them have it!

I want to start this blog with a question.  If you’re a solo cruiser; have you ever experienced a negative situation from others simply because you were ‘cruising on your own?’  If yes, I know how you feel because it’s happened to me while traveling with someone else.  So this blog is for you.

For some reason when a group of travelers see someone at an onboard cruise event ‘on their own’  they naturally think ‘the person is traveling on their own’ but sometimes it’s not true, and it all depends on the situation.   I’ve been on several cruises with the Princess Line, and so far I’ve been ‘driven out of the Princess Theatre before an evening show on board the (late) Golden Princess during a family holiday, and I was pushed off a four seater table before a morning quiz began on board the Discovery Princess’ by judgmental people who assumed I traveling on my own when the truth is this: ‘I go on mother daughter cruises all the time but I don’t do everything with her because we have different interests.’  Prior to being pushed out of the table by the couple who wanted to sit there, I saw a two seater table behind it, and I sat there for the event; until a crew member announced, “the morning quiz was cancelled!”

My challenge to you is this.  There’s a saying that goes, “give to everyone who asks you, and if someone takes something that’s yours don’t ask for it back again” in other words allow the person to have it, I did, and you can to.
